News Death Notice

STEINKE, Kenneth Eugene Age 70, of Brookville, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013. He was a 1961 graduate of Stivers High School and a 1965 graduate of the University of Dayton. Ken was working as a CFO for Wells Brothers Inc. in Anna, Ohio. He was a member of the Ohio Society of CPA's, past president and treasurer of the Ohio Quarter Horse Assoc., a member of the Stivers Alumni Association and the Indian Lake Moose Club. Ken was also a very avid sports fan. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Maebelle (Johnson) Steinke, son: Tim (Yasmin) Steinke of Las Vegas, NV, daughter: Melissa Steinke of Brookville, grandchildren: Rio and Maxim Steinke, Logan and Morgan Shell, mother: Dorothy (Schermbeck) Steinke of Dayton, special cousin: Judy (Jerry) Maberry of Dayton, sister-in-law and brother- in-law: Marcella (Ernie) Pester of Lewisburg, nieces: Tammy Holley, Sandra Johnson, Jessica (Sam) Cherry all of Lewisburg, "special adopted son": Brad O'Neil of Bar Harbor, ME, relatives and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his father: Earl E. Steinke, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Paul and Lucille Johnson, great niece: Jordan Lynn Johnson and special friends: Judy Snider, Liz Snider and Joyce Zizert.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). Entombment will follow the service at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Brookville. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Brookville High School Football Program. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.KindredFuneralHome.com
