To Kyle's family,
I have and still walk in your shoes. My Angel has been gone for 11 years. Please hold on to each other and hold on to your memories. I know it is so hard and I will not tell you things are going to get easier but I can tell you this. If God had come to me and said I will give you this Angel but only for 17 years.... she will have a smile that will melt your heart... she will make you want to stand up in a crowd and scream that is MY CHILD because you are just so proud.... she will give you so much love and she will be loved by some many it is more than any heart can imagine do you still want her. I would have said yes with not one minute of hesitation. God gave you Kyle not for as long as you wanted but he was just like my Angel. He had an amazing smile that lite up a room.... he was a wonderful son, father, brother, and friend that made you feel so blessed to have him in your life... the way he loved everyone in his life was love straight from his huge pure heart. He was a beautiful soul from the moment he came into this world. I didn't know Kyle as an adult but I remember what a sweet wonderful funny little smiling boy. I have read so many special memories from his loved ones about what a wonderful man he was which I am sure is just touching on his beautiful soul. He came into this world full of sunshine so I have no doubt he was always shining straight from the heart. I hope you will find a way to think like I do. If God had come to you and asked you would not have hesitated because the gift of Kyle was an amazing gift. Missing him will never go away, wondering what his future would have been will always be in your mind, and wishing you could hold him , hug him, kiss him, and tell him you love him one more time will be something you wish for every day. I talk to my Angel every day and know Kyle is watching over everyone always. I say I love you more than ever these days. I hug and kiss my children every chance I can and I will never forget that tomorrow is not promised so each day is a blessing. There will always be hard days but hopefully your love for Kyle and his love for you will help you get through them. You also have a Zachary which is such a special thing because you will be able to see Kyle in his son always, so hold on to him and remember he is a piece of Kyle to give all those hugs, kisses, and I love you to everyday. My heart is with you all!

Michele & Steve,
I am so sorry to hear about Kyle. I just found out this morning. People were trying to reach out to me to let me know but my phone broke. I would have been there for you both! I would have held your hands, hugged you and cried with you! I would have told you how much my heart breaks for you both and for everyone in your family. I feel so absolutely sad that I wasn't able to do anything for either of you. I have walked this path and it is the hardest path. There is nothing I can say to take the hurt away. I will tell you both that please hold on to each other, hold on to your other children, hold on to your memories. The one thing I had to understand after Jamie went to be an Angel was that everyone will grieve different. There is no right way or wrong way. There is no book or instructions to losing your child. Please just do whatever you each need to do. Please try to not lock God out. I was very angry at God for so long for taking Jamie but the anger stopped me from remembering how blessed I was and am for even having 17 years with Jamie. God gave me this beautiful daughter that had a smile that would light up a room and was so infectious. The anger stopped me from sharing all my amazing memories and love for Jamie. I will always remember Jessica, Jamie, and Kyle playing together when they were so little and I will always remember how we took them everywhere with us. Michele we would pack them together in your little Chevette or my little orange Omni and just go! They were just little buddies that hung with us no matter what we were doing or where we were going. I know Jamie was there for Kyle when he entered Heaven's Gates. She was holding his hand and smiling. They are now soaring with their wings. Two little Angels that came into the world so close together, played together and now walk the street of Gold together. Kyle will never leave your heart and he will always watch over you both and all his siblings. Kyle left a part of him here, his son Zachary. Zachary will be Kyle's light for you both. He will be the love from Kyle here on earth for you both and you both will be the story tellers to him about his loving father. I am here for you both if you need anything.
With my broken heart and love,
Melodie
