Larry DAUGHERTY Obituary

DAUGHERTY, Larry W. "Weegee" Age 67, born in Oneida, TN, formerly of Miamisburg, passed away Friday, October 5, 2018 at his daughter's home. He was born May 15, 1951 to the late Lawrence "Dobbin" Vester and Eldene "Cookie" Cook Daugherty. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Peggy Cockayne-Daugherty; his only child, Una Gilbert (Steve Storer); grandson, Cory Evans; two granddaughters, Allison Williams & Ellee Storer; brothers, Jack (Carolyn) Daugherty and Richard "Rick" Reynolds; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John (Wendy) Daugherty; sisters, MaryAnn (Bob) Doty, Jimmie Sue (Phil) Somers, and Brenda Lou Rice. Weegee was a skilled carpenter. He was an avid river fisherman of all rivers especially The Great Miami. He loved to make his own jigs and lures. He loved his grandchildren, sharing his passion for the outdoors - hiking, fishing, etc He loved "Friday Night Lights" - Miamisburg Football. He was a die-hard Tennessee Volunteers and Bengals fan. He lived for Andy Griffith, Gunsmoke, and enjoyed Bluegrass Music. An Inurnment will be held privately at Highland Cemetery. A Celebration of Weegee's Life will be on Saturday, November 17th from 3-7 PM at his daughter's home. For more information please contact the family.
