Larry Parks Obituary
Larry Dale Parks, age 79, of Moraine passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 17, 1946, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Harry and Anna Kate (McCormick) Parks. Larry was a passionate sheet metal teacher and department head at Patterson-Co-op. His students won state and national honors in competitions with VICCA. Mr. Parks retired from Delco Products as a journeyman tinsmith after 32 years of service and spent 25 years in real estate sales, including his own company Blue Jacket Realty. Larry brightened the world with his sense of humor, passion, positive outlook on life and love for family, friends and work endeavors. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Larry enjoyed fishing, woodworking, puzzles, spending time with his fur baby "Lucy", and spending time with family and friends. His final wish is that you will leave with a smile-he knows he will, too. Preceded in death by his brother Darrell Parks, and his fur baby "Lucy". He is survived by his wife Claris, 3 daughters Laura (Dan) Halsall, twins Stacy Hurley and Kelly (Michael) Jarvis, his 6 grandchildren Kaley (Caleb) Guenthner, Alex Lamb, Madison Jarvis, Molly Jarvis, Emily Baker, Blake Halsall, his 2 great grandchildren Lynnox and Perrie Guenthner and his beloved Zion Lutheran Church family and many friends, as well as friend and caregiver Connie Ingram. Funeral Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5550 Munger Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459 with Pastor Adam Forbes officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to service) at church on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in memory of Mr. Larry Parks. Please refrain from sending lilies or other strong-fragrant flowers. Arrangements entrusted to the Dalton Funeral Home, Germantown. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Crossroads Hospice for all of their kindness and care of Larry.
