LaVerna Stiver Obituary

Stiver (Hamilton), LaVerna Rae

LaVerna Rae Stiver, age 87 of Brookville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 11, 2025 at the Brookhaven Nursing and Care Center. She was born on August 25, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio the daughter of the late Pertal H. & Marcella (Wheeler) Hamilton-Niekamp. LaVerna enjoyed writing poetry and won several awards for her writing, she loved to babysit and spend time with children. She was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church and a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Brookville. Preceded in death by her husband Robert Eugene Stiver, her 2 sisters Doris Comer and Barbara Duckro, her brother Pertal H. "Bill" Hamilton, her 2 brothers-in-law Edward "Ed" Comer and John Ducko and by her step-son Larry Stiver. She is survived by special friend, Barbara Flory, step-daughters, Mary & Pam, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on August 19, 2025 at the Rogers Funeral Homes, 324 West Main St., New Lebanon, with Pastor Kevin Schuller officiating. Burial will follow at the Ellerton Cemetery in Moraine. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (1 hour prior to service) on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran church Brookville, Ohio. Please share condolences at www.RogersFuneralHomes.com.
