Lawrence BORING

1937 - 2018

BORING, Lawrence Edwin "Larry" Age 80, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Radcliff, Ohio, March 22, 1937, to Theodore Roosevelt and Myrta Mildred (Jeffers) Boring. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Judith Ellen Moshier and Wilma Eileen Jones Sadrai. (When Judi died unexpectedly Theodore and Myrta adopted her children Anthony Edward and Alissa Erin.) He was educated at McArthur High School, Ohio State University, taking two years off for military service. Ohio University for both Bachelor's and Master's in German. He made trips to Germany, but working on his Master's allowed him to move his family to Munich for 10 months to work for the Army and to do research. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Joan Elizabeth Ward, his daughter Erika Alison Gilcher, son Erich Sebastian Bloodaxe, and grandson Ian Nathaniel Gilcher. Larry first taught German in Parma, Ohio. He moved to Middletown where he found he truly enjoyed working with the students. He advanced into the vice principalship at Middletown High School, before moving into the Principalship at Verity Middle School, and then becoming a curriculum coordinator in the main offices.
