Lonnie Bayless Obituary
News Death Notice
BAYLESS, Lonnie Edward Sr. age 83, of West Milton, passed away on Sunday, January, 4, 2009 at Hospice of Dayton. Lonnie was born August 7, 1925 in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Sherman & Margie Bayless. Lonnie was a United States Veteran proudly serving during WWII and a member of the VFW Post #5018 and American Legion Post #613. He retired from Dayton Tire and Rubber, and loved the sports of horse racing and fishing. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. Lonnie is survived by his son: Donnie R. Bayless of Dayton, grandchildren: Dustin & Bryan Bayless, Casey Jones, Becki King, Rachel Maleski; nine great grandchildren; sister: Catherine Darby of Ashland, KY; step daughter: Sharon Cantrell and special son-in-law Rick; step son: Dale Hahn; best friends: Joe & Mary Jo Seifert; special neighbor: Virgie Erbaugh; and numerous nieces, nephews in Kentucky, other family members and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Vivien; sons: Lonnie E. Bayless Jr., Sherman L. Bayless, and brothers: Frank & Charles Bayless. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and staff at both Good Samaritan Hospital 4800 Ward and Hospice of Dayton for their care of Lonnie. I'm signing this for my parents, Ray and Betty Ball, who would like to send Lonnie's family their deepest sympathy. They were very good friends with him and I've been hearing stories all my life about the good times they shared as young married couples and new parents. We're so sorry for your loss.
