Louis Smith Obituary


News Death Notice

SMITH, Louis M. age 92, passed away November 5, 2009 at the Sterling House of Beavercreek. Louis was a United States Army veteran of WWII; he served his country in the invasion on D-Day and the battle of the bulge. He retired from NCR and through SERS. Louis was an avid gardener who enjoyed sharing his produce with neighbors and friends. He is survived by his wife Ruby, sons; Dan, and Meredith(Rita), daughter Dianne(Edward), grandchildren; Louis and Sarah, sister Mattie Frost, a host of nieces and nephews. Family to receive friends Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 5 to 7pm at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME Belmont Chapel; where service will be held 1:00pm Friday. Rev. Aaron Vaughn will officiate. Burial will take place following the service at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu if flowers contributions may be given in Louis memory to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, Ohio 45420 or the Alzheimer's Association-Miami Valley Chapter The Laurelwood, 3797 Summit Glen Dr., Suite 100, Dayton, OH. 45449.

To the Smith Family:
I am very sorry to hear of your loss. Mr. Smith was a great next door neighbor and indeed taught me a lot about gardening and many other things.
I often have thought about him and the many conversations we had over the fence.
