Luanne Weaver Obituary


News Death Notice

WEAVER, Luanne age 88 of Dayton, died peacefully at the Hospice Care Center on Tuesday, 17 March 2009. Luanne was born 29 June 1920 in Mascoutah, IL, daughter of the late Herbert and Marcella (Bruegel) Pfeifer. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Eugene Frederick Weaver; and her sister, Catherine Stoffel. She is survived by her sons, Paul (Susanne) of Dayton and Fredric (Jeannette) of Troy, OH; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Weaver of Mason, OH; Michael (Angela) Weaver of St. Louis, MO; Jonathan (Shana) Weaver of Huber Heights, OH; and Jessica Weaver of Oklahoma City, OK; great-grandchildren, Cassadie, Madison, Nicholas, Kelsie, Drew, Jack, Emily and Joseph, who were the fondest delights of her heart. Luanne graduated from nurses training at Deaconess Hospital of St. Louis. She was a devoted wife to Gene and was especially proud of her extended family. She was an active and faithful member of College Hill and Westminster Presbyterian Churches and performed many volunteer activities, including over 40 years as a member of the College Hill choir. She also volunteered for the Emergency Food Bank and the Northwest Dayton Fish Pantry. A Memorial Service in witness to the resurrection will be held at 4 PM Saturday, 21 March 2009 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, The Reverend Dr. Robert E. Jones and The Reverend Kay Davis-Dudding officiating, with reception to follow. Memorial gifts may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, College Hill Church or Hospice of Dayton.
