Lucian DAVIS Obituary


News Death Notice

DAVIS, Lucian 95, passed away, Tuesday, March 8, 2016 under Hospice care at the Dayton VA. He was born April 19, 1920 to Easter (Reed) and Coy Davis in Salyersville, KY (Magoffin County). Lucian is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna M. Davis; daughters Edra Monzon (Carlos Orlando Monzon) and Ronda Davis (John Bradshaw), grandchildren -Rachael Linville (Andy Zellner) and Armando Monzon (Stephanie), and great-grandchildren- Elena and Alex. He was preceded in death by his son - Lucian Davis Jr. of Kettering, OH (2009), sisters -Versie Johnson and Icel Caskey, and brothers- Lucas Davis and Coy Davis Jr. of West Liberty, KY. Lucian was a decorated WW II Vet, serving in the famed 82nd Airborne Division, where he saw things he never forgot. In 1945, he was severely wounded and sent to the states for care. He later worked for the railroad in California. He retired from Harrison Radiator, Moraine, OH, in 1986 after 35.5 years. Lucian will be buried in Arlington Cemetery. A celebration-of-life- event will be scheduled at a later date.
