News Death Notice

JEFFRIES, Maxine Burke born December 16 1927 passed on August 10 2011 in Lakeland FL. She lived for many years in Dayton OH employed by C & M Products then by Karen Carson Co. The oldest of nine children born to William Burke and Freda Hall Burke Pullin of Charleston WV, Maxine is survived by sister Yolonda Canterbury of Charleston and by brother Don Burke of Dayton, and by her children, Carol Ziegler of Dunmore, WV and husband Rick, Patty Newton of Lakeland, FL and husband Ken, and Robert Jeffries of Winter Haven, FL. She has 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. Robert Franklin Jeffries who died in May of 1994 and six of her siblings. A memorial is planned for 5:00 pm on Saturday September 3, at the Union Chapel Community Church in Dayton, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a Hospice facility in her memory.

My Aunt Maxine,was a big part of my life .Growing up with her,and my Uncle Bob.They both ,always showed me.What family was really about.Love one another.Now my mom & dad , Aunt Maxine & Uncle Bob can be together. In peace and comfort knowing we will all see them again!Loving cousin,Amanda.
