Family-Placed Obituary
ECTON, Maynard William Was born June 24, 1924 in New Burlington Ohio to Alzora and William Ecton. Following a brief illness, he departed this life Thursday, September 14, 2006 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. Maynard retired from The Ohio Suburban Water Company and The University of Dayton Arena. He was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 47 years Josephine Ecton, two grandsons; Torrence Devale and Mark Ecton Jr. and a devoted son-in-law, Charles Jackson. He leaves to cherish his memories, (3) sons, Michael (Juanita), Anthony (Lennie), and Mark (Teresa); (2) daughters; Beverly Jefferies and Vicki Ecton-Jackson; (4) sisters-in-law; Lulabelle Phillips, Ashton McDaniel, Rebecca Coleman, and Thelma Austin; Devoted grandchildren: Terra Matusoff, Bryan Ecton (Kandiss ), E. Jabbar Ecton (LaDoris ), Darlene Davis, Chanda Bennett (Bishop George), Chameka Rollins-Gilmore (Robert Jr.), Brandae Jefferies (Damien), Michelle Dewberry(Shawn), Omni Ecton, Antwon Ecton, Michael Morten, Eryn Ecton and Darlene Davis; Great-grandchildren, Morgan Matusoff, Destine, Brya' & Antjuandre Ecton, Bryan (BJ), Brandan & Bradley Jeffries, Raina and Chaina Watkins, Remi Gilmore, Da'sha Pitts, Mishaun & Shamia Dewberry, a very devoted cousin; Paul McKnight, devoted and long time friends; Bailey & Juanita Jackson, Jr., Lucille Vance, Walter & Norma Jean Bailey, Doreen Patton & Robert, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Funeral service 12:00 noon Friday, September 22, 2006 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 502 Pontiac Street, Rev. Carlton Williams, Pastor, with Rev. Leon Wilkinson, officiating. Family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be held at the Dayton National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave.
