Michael FOGT Obituary
News Death Notice
FOGT, Michael Age 70 of Dayton passed away on Monday June 29, 2015 at Kettering Hospital. Mike graduated from Colonel White High School in 1962 and from Wright State University in 1972. He served as manager of labor relations for Xpedx until his retirement in 2009. He was preceded by his parents, Emory and Mary Fogt; and by his wife, Ciann Fogt. He is survived by his son, Timothy Zindorf and his spouse Brian Hibbeln; his daughter, Cherrie Zindorf and her fiancé, Jerry Collins; and several cousins. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave. A memorial service celebrating his life will follow the visitation beginning at 4:00. I was saddened to hear the news about Mike's passing and offer my sincere condolences to his family. Mike and I met in 1962 and became good friends through high school and our years at Ohio University. Mike used to laugh at me because his Mom wouldn't give me lunch until I ate my salad. Tim and Cherrie, I'm saddened by the loss of a great co-worker from xpedx, but mostly by the loss of a good friend. Mike had so much wisdom and shared it with me and many others in xpedx for a long time. I will truly miss him. You are in my prayers during this tough time. When I joined xpedx in 2001 coming in with a lot of enthusiasm and no Union experience, Mike was the one who provided me with unending information and advice. I learned so much from his vast encyclopedia of knowledge. Mike was always patient with my questions and a quick word if I needed a course re-direction. This world is a better place for having had Mike Fogt in it! Before he left the company, we invited him to Minneapolis to dinner. At the table of this very charming restaurant were matchboxes personalized with "What would Fogt Do?" He loved it and we loved and respected him. Mike, be at peace.
