Michael FOLEY Obituary
News Death Notice
FOLEY, Michael E. 66 of Wilmington, Ohio and formerly of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 in his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 11, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio the son of Robert E. and Edna (Cook) Foley, Sr. Mike was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving for two years in Germany during the Vietnam War. He applied for and was granted a European discharge upon completion of his military duty and travelled extensively throughout Europe before returning home to Springfield. Mike attended Central State University under the G.I. Bill and upon graduation from college, accepted a position with the Springfield Certified Public Accounting firm of Clark, Schaefer and Hackett in Springfield. Later along with Robert Wagenseller, Mike purchased the Wilmington office and accounts and formed the partnership of Wagenseller and Foley C.PA.'s in 1980. After 32 years he recently retired from the firm. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Leslie (Preston) Foley; two sons, Christopher M. & Christie and Timothy W. Foley; grandchildren, Katie, Jack and Gaby; brothers, Robert E. Jr. and Patrick & Laura Foley of Springfield; a sister, Margaret M. (Foley) McAtee, Springfield and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Raphael Catholic Church with Fr. Chris Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior beginning at 10 a.m. Interment of ashes will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of life/wake will be held, following the interment, at Walnut Grove Country Club, 5050 Linden Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45432. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Care Hospice of Wilmington. The family is being served by CONROY FUNERAL HOME.

Leslie, I don't recall ever meeting you. My sympathies do go out to you and your family as well as Bob, Peggy and Pat. I knew Mike most of my life as we were both Herzog cousins. Peace.

Leslie and family,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family. I had the privilege of living next door to the Bob and Edna Foley family for the first few years of my life. Mike Bob, Jr. and Pat not only were my first cousins, they were my first friends, playmates and mentors. When we were transferred to Pittsburgh, PA, and there was just the four of us, my Mom told me I missed the Bob Foley family so much I called myself Bob and my sister Kathy, Mike and my parents Uncle Bob and Aunt Edna. I have fond memories of our visits to Ohio and spending time with Mike and his siblings. Of late I enjoyed the visits with Mike, by phone. He was a family man. Katie, Jack and Gabby you were the apples of your grandfathers eyes.

The Arizona Foley sisters send our deepest condolences for the loss of our Mike...We have so many memories of our younger days and always including trips to Springfield to visit all the cousins and relatives there in Ohio..Mike was a unique and special man and I'm sure you will miss his presence in your life..always had the knack for the humor..may you find moments of peace and may this time be a blessing in that Mike has found his eternal reward for a life well-lived.

RIP Michael Foley. Leslie, I don't if you will remember Bruce and I (Bert) Ward. We lived side by side in the apartments on Route 40 East when (we) were first married.
