Just found this, and sorry to have missed the service. Mrs. Mullins was my high school orchestra teacher from 1994-1998. She always encouraged and challenged me, and worked hard with our little orchestra (several of whom went on to pursue music degrees at college). She was interesting because in addition to her day job of teaching music, she also played in the Dayton Philharmonic, and would tell us stories sometimes which gave us a real world example of a professional musician. One way she really helped me towards my first career as a music teacher was she drove me an hour on her own time and money to help me choose a new violin in Columbus, so I would be able to perform at a higher level. That was something definitely above and beyond her job description, and I still appreciate that. Sad I never got to tell her this.

I´ve been searching obituaries since I finally found a Facebook announcement in January on the music store site where she taught. How I missed this is beyond me as I check Legacy often. Nancy was a dear friend and colleague 50 years ago. We last visited when she came to Maine in 2018. Whenever we talked it was as if we´d never been apart. She was a forever friend and I miss her. My condolences to her sisters and their families. She was a bright light in the lives of many.

My son, Noah, age 11, took violin lessons from Nancy for about a year. He loved her and was very attached to her; he was devastated when we learned of her passing. Nancy was his first violin teacher, and I value her kindness and patience with him! Our deepest sympathies!
