News Death Notice

WHITE, Paul F. Funeral services for Paul F. White, age 75 of Hideaway are scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, January 28, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church Lindale with Rev. Jack Cox Officiating. Private family interment will be in the Lindale City Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home of Lindale. Mr. White was born March 8, 1937 in Boston, Massachusetts. He passed away Thursday, January 24, 2013 in a Dallas hospital. Mr. White lived in Hideaway for the past 15 years, moving from Dallas. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lindale and the Open Doors Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the John Stewart Society at the University of Dayton. Paul's business career started with Dayton Steel Foundry in sales and the founding of the service division. His career continued in Dallas where he was the President of Southwest Wheel and later a post-tensioning company. In 1990 he did a startup company Woodlawn Abrasives in Houston and moved it to Marshall to combine it with Woodlawn Manufacturing Inc. His dream was to own a company which he accomplished when he purchased Woodlawn Manufacturing along with Woodlawn Abrasives. He sold the abrasive company to Black & Decker. He grew the Woodlawn Manufacturing to 150 employees, and he felt it was time to retire. The sale of the company to Lone Star New Markets took place in July 2008. During his career in Marshall, Paul was instrumental in founding the Harrison County Manufacturing Council, He was Runner up for Boss of the year in 2004, and named Boss of the year in 2009. Mr. White is survived by his wife, Joan White of Hideaway; mother, Patricia White of Dayton, Ohio; sons, Kevin White and wife Rose of New Carlisle, Ohio, Douglas Trekell and wife Jana of Hallsville; daughter, Sheri Allshouse and husband Kurt of Spring, Texas; brothers, Peter White of Hilton Head, South Carolina, David White of Baltimore, Maryland, Michael White of Dayton, Ohio, Mathew White of Minneapolis, Minnesota and 11 grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

Paul had so many friends because he was such a thoughtful and kindhearted man. A person's station in life never mattered to him. He helped many less fortunate and was always looking for ways to help his fellowman. May God bless Joan and all the family in this time of sorrow.
