Raymond TOWNSEND Obituary

TOWNSEND, Raymond E. 54, of Trenton, was welcomed into the loving arms of the Savior he adored on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Atrium Medical Center. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Ray would have heard the story of his redemption and his love for the Lord who saved him by grace. Ray's passion for Jesus was evident in everything that he did. Most of all in the way he loved his family. He is survived by his wife Lisa, who after 18 years of marriage he still referred to as his beautiful bride and his daughter Myleigh Rae, who had him wrapped around her finger from the day she was born. He was a devoted step father to Michael Mullins and Michelle Lewis, who he loved as if they were his own. He was "Papaw" to Britton Mullins and Bryson Senft. Ray was a loving son to Aileen & Ben Kakaris and Scotty & Paula Townsend and brother to Terry & Jerry Townsend and Tonya Ledford. As a member, Sunday School teacher, prayer warrior, and musician at Edgewood Baptist Church, Ray had the joy of leading many people in the prayer of salvation and mentoring them as they grew in their faith. Ray was a multi-talented musician and could play any stringed instrument by ear from the age of 12. He had a passion for bluegrass music and some of his best times were spent playing with many talented friends. Ray was employed by the Ohio Department of Transportation where he was loved and respected by all who had the privilege of working alongside him. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 6:00 pm at Edgewood Baptist, 1010 West State St., Trenton with Pastor Keith Risner officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 3:00 - 6:00 pm at the church. A Graveside Service will be at Butler County Memorial Park on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 11:00 am.
