Richard Deeter Sr.

1925 - 2018

DEETER, Sr., Richard Richard was born August 19, 1925, and he passed away July 27, 2018, a few weeks shy of his 93rd birthday. He was one of 10 children, born to William and Anna Deeter of Palestine, Ohio. After graduating from high school, he was drafted and served in the Korean War for 2 years. Upon returning from the war, he worked at the Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Colorado. We thank and honor him for his service to our country. Richard met and married his wife "Kay" in 1956; they were married 62 years and had 6 children. He is preceded in death by his son, "Andy" Deeter who passed away in February, 2018, and his grandson, Jordan Andrew Deeter who passed away in August, 1993. He is survived by his wife, Kay and five children, Anna Newman (OH), Christal Hudson (TN), Izetta McKenzie (CA), Rebecca McGuire (TN), and Richard Deeter, Jr. (OH), as well as one sibling, Treva Bain, of Greenville (OH), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Friday, August 3, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, Ohio 45439. A viewing will be held from 11:00am-Noon and the funeral will begin at Noon. A private family burial will be held in Germantown,Ohio where Richard and his family have resided for 46 years.
