Robert BLOUNT Obituary
News Death Notice
BLOUNT, Robert Sr. went to his final resting place on Monday, July 30, 2012. Born on July 10, 1934 to Lula Blount and C.B. Hicks in Birmingham, Alabama, as a young boy he moved to Dayton, Ohio where he was raised by his grandmother, Minnie Blount, and would meet his wife, Lorene E. Calloway. He served his country dutifully for 29 ½ years with the United States Air Force and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Robert is survived by his wife, Lorene Blount; daughter, Sharon E. Murphy of Hampton; son, Bobby Blount, Jr. and wife, Sandra of San Antonio, Texas and four grandchildren, Tiana E. Blount, Robert Blount III, A. Shanice Blount, and Jaelynn Blount. His eyes saw much. His head wore many hats. His feet walked many miles and crossed the paths of many lives. His tongue always carried a conversation for anyone with ears to listen. A mind with a wealth of knowledge, hands capable of fixing anything, and a heart that will be missed and loved always. His soul, spirit, and mind shall eternally rest in peace with God. A graveside service will be conducted, with full military honors, 2 p.m. today, August 1, 2012 in Albert G. Horton Jr. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Suffolk, VA. Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
