Roland Dill Obituary


News Death Notice

DILL, Roland H (78) of Lebanon, Ohio passed away Wednesday July 29, 2009 after a long struggle with mesothelioma. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy in August 2002. He is survived by 6 children, 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He studied music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music 1954-55 Joined the Navy and served on the USS Missouri during the Korean War. Played trombone in the Navy band. Retired from Bacon & Dill Insurance in 1995. In Lieu of Flowers, please donate to the Roland H. Dill Memorial Scholarship Fund held by the Warren County Music Study Club. Contact: Randall Crouse, Treasurer, 602 Circle Dr, Lebanon, OH 45036, Designate to Dill Scholarship Memorial Fund This is a perpetual scholarship Fund to assist young talented musicians in their musical development. Visitation is Friday July 31, 2009 from 7-9pm at the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow, OH with service on Saturday August 1, 2009 at 12pm at the St. Columbkille Catholic Church, Wilmington, OH. Interment is in Lebanon Cemetery. Arrangements by the Vale-Hoskins Funeral Home, Morrow, OH.

Truly a shock to hear of Roland's passing. Unfortunately I was in Pennsylvania at the time and could not attend the funeral. Roland will forever be in my memory as a wonderful man and a fine musician.
