RONALD RINGO Obituary

RINGO, Ronald Lee Born in Dayton on January 15, 1937, went to join his beloved wife of 50 years, Carol Lou Ringo, and his Lord on December 25, 2016. Ron is survived by his loving daughters Robin Ringo of Venice, FL, Louanne Barker (dear son-in-law Russ) of Vandalia, and Ronda Ringo of Hoschton, GA. His pride and joy were his adoring grandchildren Dr. Matthew Mitchell (granddaughter-in-law Dr. Carla Maffeo) of Atlanta, GA, Carrie Barker of Vandalia, and Lucas Mitchell of Orlando, FL. Ron was also blessed by many dear friends and family members. A U. of Cincinnati Electrical Engineering grad, '60, Ron served thirty years as a civil servant of the United States Air Force at Wright Patterson Air Force Base and earned his Master's degree in Navigation Systems from the Air Force Institute of Technology. His distinguished career culminated in his post as Branch Chief for the Avionics Laboratory whereby he was awarded the prestigious 1991 Weems Award and two Meritorious Service Awards from the USAF. Ron was a devoted husband, father, "Papaw," brother, uncle, family member and friend. After his retirement, he and Carol lived in Sarasota, FL, where he pursued his love of golf and he learned how to play the organ and to work with stained glass. He loved to play cards and games with friends and family. He and Carol returned to Dayton in 2006 and were able to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in September of 2007 before Carol's passing in 2008. Upon his return to Dayton, Ron gave over 2,000 volunteer hours as a docent for the USAF Museum. He was known for his sense of humor, his good nature, his integrity, his kind heart, his joy for fun, and his gorgeous baby blue eyes. Ron was truly loved and will be forever celebrated and missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held the afternoon of his birthday, Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the AMVETS Post #99, 1123 S. Brown School Rd., Vandalia, OH 45377, followed by a reception until 5:00 p.m.. Arrangements by the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Organization in Ron's memory.

To the family,
May God give you for every storm... a rainbow,
For every tear... a smile,
For every care... a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share,
For every sigh... a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.
