DEWITT, Ruth N. (Peffley) "Who in the family initiated this!?", Age 87 of Dayton, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Ruth was born October 31, 1920 in Phillipsburg, OH, daughter of the late Dwight Moody and Rhoda Catherine (Tucker) Peffley. Ruth, along with her husband Don, owned and operated restaurants in the Dayton area including, House of Beef and Beer, Beverly Hills in Xenia, Ivy Lounge in Fairborn, Tall Timbers in Huber Heights, DeWitt Village, The Loop and Rustic Gardens. She was a Professional Volunteer for Public Relations and Senior Troup Leader for the Buckeye Trails Girl Scout Council, past PTA President for Shiloh and Shoup Mill Schools and an avid sportswoman. Her greatest pleasures were gardening and her family. Mrs. DeWitt is survived by her children, Pamela DeWitt Denlinger (Paul Keers), Bill (Marilyn) DeWitt and Bud (Jennifer) DeWitt; grandchildren, Jason (Carrie) Riley, Susannah (Layne) Dellinger, Monica (Burt) Gingerich, Jennifer (Kent) Gard, Debra Brokamp, Josh (Meredith) DeWitt and Colt DeWitt; 4 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters in-law; special friend, Betty Lange; many nieces and nephews including, Heather, Joe, Sean and Rachel Wallace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don DeWitt; brothers, Lee, Arthur, Charles, David and Dwight Peffley. A special thank you is extended to Conner Davis and Doug and Gaye Henry for their friendship and loving care of our mother. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Baker- Hazel & Snider Funeral Home & Crematory, 5555 Philadelphia Dr. at N. Main St., Dayton, Craig Ummel officiating. The family will receive visitors 1-2 PM Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the funeral home. Online memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.bakerhazelsnider.com
