KING, Jr., Stephen D. Age 76, of Centerville, passed away on November 27, 2017. Steve was born on April 30, 1941 in Dayton, OH to Stephen and Ann King. He graduated from Chaminade High School in 1959, honorably served in the Air Force, and then went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Dayton. Steve worked as an auditor for the State of Ohio for 35 years before retiring in 2005. He was a long time member of Church of the Incarnation and a member of its leisure club. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus and an active member of The Ancient Order of Hibernians. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was forever loving, caring, and supportive and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, including coaching each of his children's sports teams. He never met a stranger, had an infectious laugh, and was always quick with a joke. He loved sports and was an avid fan of many teams, including the Dayton Flyers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Steelers, and Buckeyes. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Bridget A. (O'Reilly) King. He is survived by his children, Stacy (Nicholas) Wilhite, Eric (Ramona Cotter) King, and Molly (Matthew) Waite; grandchildren, Madison King and Mason Waite; sister, Mary Ann (William) Heidenreich; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will greet friends from 4:00-7:00pm on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, December 1, 2017 at Church of the Incarnation, 7415 Far Hills Ave., Centerville. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Steve King was my tee-ball coach many years ago. I was not an athlete by any means, but my memories of that team (the only one to sing in the 4th of July parade) are some of the best of my childhood. During my first at-bat, I hit the ball and ran straight to third base. Every time I saw him in the 30+ years that followed, Coach King brought that up and laughed his face off. He was a great guy, and I'm glad to have known him. I was sorry to hear of his passing and send my condolences to his family.
