News Death Notice

TAYLOR, Sr., Steve F. Age 87 of Brookville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 1, 2015. He was born in Whitley County, Kentucky to the late, Jasper and Ona (Golden) Taylor. Steve graduated from Cumberland College in 1949 with his Electrical Engineering certificate. He worked at Delco Products and the Mead Corporation and later owned and operated Steve Taylor Saw Shop in Brookville for more than 31 years, where he did engine repair, tool maintenance, sold lawn and garden equipment and chain saws. Steve also enjoyed anything mechanical, wood working, telling stories, especially being a thoroughbred from Kentucky. He was a member of Bible Baptist Fellowship in Brookville. Steve loved life and always had an upbeat outlook on it. He leaves to treasure his memory, his beloved wife of 66 years: Margaret (Johnson) Taylor, children: Bruce (Lynn) Taylor of CA, Gail Paulus of Columbus, Rebecca (Howard) Poynter of IN, Steve (Trish) Taylor Jr. of Dayton, 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, sisters: Rita (Hurstle) Smith of KY, Glenna Smith of Cincinnati, brother: Larry (Fannie) Taylor of KY, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brother: Wadely Taylor and sister: Erma Blakely. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood) with Pastor Laird Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow the service at Royal Oak Memorial Gardens in Brookville with Pastor Donnie Smith officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Gideons International or Hospice of Dayton.
