Susan WETZEL Obituary

News Death Notice

WETZEL (Sollenberger), Susan K. Age 51 of Clayton, passed away peacefully at her home on November 14, 2014. She was born on April 22, 1963. A graduate of Dixie High School and CTC, Susan worked for many years for Dr. Kuddythamby Sinnathamby, Dr. Badrul Islam and Dr. Rabindra Kitchener. Some of her greatest joys were participating in 4-H and helping her sons show at the Montgomery County Fair, working in her flower garden and helping her husband in the pumpkin patch. She lived with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) for nearly three years and was a champion fundraiser to help combat this disease, saying, "ALS will not take the sparkle from my eyes or smile off my face." She always felt blessed and said life didn't have to be perfect to be wonderful. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 30 years: David Wetzel, their two sons: Andrew and Gabriel; parents James and Carol Sollenberger; brother Scott (Ronda) Sollenberger; sister Teresa (Gary) Morin; nieces Heidi Sollenberger, Camryn, Chandler and Carsen Morin, nephew Luke Sollenberger; parents-in-law Albert and Virginia Wetzel; brother-in-law Mike (Valerie) Wetzel and children Michael, Brian and Rebecca. She will also be greatly missed by her special cousin and caregiver, Sharee Milrot, her aunts, uncles and other cousins as well as by so many wonderful friends.A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Holy Cross Church (1924 Leo St., Dayton). Interment will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Kindred Funeral Home (400 Union Blvd., Englewood). My FAVORITE student at the MVCTC. Susan had an infectious, positive influence not only in school and at work, but also with her family, friends, and community.
She had a " killer" smile and it was fun to just be around her. Susan will be one of God's favorite angels. Her presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know this graceful lady.

Our thoughts and prayers are with both the Wetzel and Sollenberger families during this difficult time. Susan was full of life as a child and grew up to be an amazing woman and mother. She will shine in heaven! May God be with all.

I only know Susan through my most recent employment with Dr. Kitchener. What a fantastic and lively personality I noticed from her from the first day. She will be sorely missed and I can only imagine that this has left a large hole in her family. God bless you, the family.

I was only at your home once to care for Susan but I will never forget her smile. What a wonderful attitude she had. I was there when she first got the feeding pump and she was trying to figure out how she would "decorate" it to make it look less like medical equipment. I love what she did with her "special" bed. I was so impressed by the love you could tell she gave to her family and vice versa. What a beautiful person inside and out. My sympathies to her family.

Susan was one of the most amazing woman, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend I think I have ever known. Every fall will always remind me of the sparkle in Susan's eyes as she sold the most amazing pumpkins with her family. You will always be missed and one day we will meet again.
