Thomas V. RATHFELDER

RATHFELDER, Thomas V. Age 85, of Springboro, Ohio formerly from Sarasota, Fl passed away on December 3, 2017 at Kettering Memorial Hospital. Tom was born January 24, 1932 in Bellefountaine, Ohio to the late August and Vera Rathfelder. In addition to his parents, Tom was proceeded in death by his two brothers, Bill and Ernie, and infant sister Betty. Tom is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Patty Jo Rathfelder; Son Ted Rathfelder (Marcia); Daughter Teri Todd (Michael); Grandchildren Sarah Bravo (Micah), Brian Rathfelder, Courtney Schweickart (Hunter) and Haley Todd; Great Grandchildren Riley and Charlotte Bravo. Tom served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict stationed in Malta as an Avionics Electronics Technician and then retired from Wright Patterson AFB OH as an Electronics Engineer. Tom was an honored Mason, member of the Antioch Shrine (Dayton and Sarasota) Veterans of Foreign War. Tom also volunteered for many years with the Randolph Township Fire and Rescue Department Station #4 Clayton, Ohio as a paramedic and fireman. Tom enjoyed golf, running, exercising and was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Bengals. Tom dearly loved animals and will now rest in peace with his beloved dog, and faithful companion Sophie. A Memorial Service will be held 4:30 pm on Thursday, Dec 7 at the Springboro United Methodist Church 60 E North Street, Springboro Ohio. Private interment will be at Memorial Oaks, Brookville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to any Animal Humane Society of preference.
