News Death Notice

WOOD, Vianne age 82, of Dayton departed this life for a life of glory with God on Wednesday, October 14, 2009. She was born in Gaffney, S. C. on January 3, 1927. She is preceded in death by the father of her children, JT Wood I; father, Randolph Savage Sr.; mother, Ellen Tate Savage; son, Charles Wood; daughter, Connie Wood; sisters, Nancy Phillips and Lucille Norris; brothers, Randolph Savage Jr., George Savage and Oscar Jeffers. She leaves to cherish her loving memory; a brother, Ralph Savage of Gaffney, S. C.; (3) devoted sons, James Woods (Mary), JT Wood II and Allen Wood (Karen); (2) devoted daughters, Annie and Priscilla Wood, all of Dayton, OH; (19) grandchildren, Lavell Colter, Capt. Anthony White, Corey Smith, Johnna Wood, Brandon Wood, Eleanor Newman, James Calloway, Yvonne, Randolph, Kawana, Christopher and Derek Woods, Tonya Osborne, JT Wood III, India, Kalen and Allen Wood Jr., Allen Scott Wood and Shirleta Napier, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Funeral service 11:00 A.M. TUESDAY, October 20, 2009 at THOMAS FUNERAL HOME, 4520 Salem Ave., with Reverend Michael Payne, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
