WAVA MARIE CORWIN, 98, of Springfield, passed away peacefully to be with God, surrounded by family on August 23, 2025. She was born in Springfield on December 9, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Bunker) Tull. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Wava lived a full and beautiful life with grace and humility, rich with love, family, and cherished hobbies. Her love of tending her garden, long witty conversations, her love of dance, especially the jitterbug, and her laughter, will remain a cherished memory. She was a kind and gentle soul who devoted herself to her family, she was always a source of constant love and encouragement. She was especially delighted in welcoming new babies into the family, treasuring each new generation with warmth and pride. Her family and friends will remember her as a steady presence, a quiet strength, and a heart that always made room for others. She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Phillip) Hale, and Shelley (Marc) Kabbes, all of Springfield; sons, Douglas (Mary) Corwin of Sacramento, CA, and William Corwin of Denver, CO; two siblings Jacqueline (Tom) Lambert, Richard Tull, 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; Wava was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Walter Corwin, daughter Linda Burns Childs, sons, Donald and Robert Corwin; siblings: Helen Cydrus, Bonnie, Deanna Steppe, Darlene Hamilton, Barbara Dalton, and Carol, and Daniel Tull. Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home, where her funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, with a reception afterward at The Landing at Littleton & Rue. Wava's life was a testament to kindness, family devotion, laughter, and a love of all of the joy life has to offer. Her memory will live on in the many hearts she touched and the family legacy she helped create.
