HIGH FLIGHT
Oh! I have lipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered-wings.
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung.
High in the sunlit silence, hov'ring there
I've chased the shouting winds along and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark nor ever eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.

With deepest respect for a man I counted as comrade, and friend, I say Goodbye . In your life you added dignity to everything you did, and Honor to the Country you served in quietness with strength. May your family draw strength in their loss from the legacy you leave in the many lives you touched.

I wish to offer my genuine condolences to the Family of a dear friend, Bill Wilmer. I flew with Bill for many years in the Ohio Air National Guard. Bill was a devoted individual to his country and his family that I admired. Throw a nickel on the grass.
