Julieanna Jepsen Obituary

Julieanna Jepsen October 20, 1948 - January 26, 2024 Julieanna Jepsen was born on October 20, 1948, in Denison, Iowa. She was the daughter of Clarence and Edna (Asmus) Ransom and grew up alongside her many siblings. Julie was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison and received her education in Denison. On April 24, 1965, Julie married the love of her life, Dennis Jepsen in South Dakota. From this union, they were blessed with two children: Scott and Rabecca and the family made their home in Denison. From an early age, Julie's tender heart shone through her dedication to caring for others. She spent approximately 20 years babysitting children in the community, leaving a lasting impression on every child she cared for. She also worked for Topko in the floral department. Many will remember Julie from her time at the Denison Dairy Queen. She had an undeniable charm that drew people in, and it came as no surprise that customers would specifically request her. Throughout her life, Julie embodied the values of faith and community. She was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. One of Julie's simple pleasures in life was gazing at the clouds, the sunrise, sunset, birds, and all of God's creation. Her love for nature and appreciation of its beauty demonstrated her down-to-earth nature. With a care-free spirit that was infectious to those around her, she brought laughter into every room she entered. Silly and goofy by nature, she had an uncanny ability to bring joy to even the most mundane moments. Julie was known for many marvelous qualities, one of which was her astounding memory. Often referred to as a walking encyclopedia, she possessed an incredible ability to document and recall details about her family history that dated back many years ago. And let's not forget her fondness for bunco, a game she played with enthusiasm and skill for many years. Above all else, Julie was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family meant the world to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her unconditional love knew no bounds, bringing comfort during difficult times and fostering an atmosphere of warmth within their lives. Julie passed away peacefully at Journey Senior Living in Carroll on Friday, January 26, 2024. She reached the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 6 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Edna Ransom; step-father, Joseph Wolfe; brothers: Kenneth, Robert, Darold, Larry, Thomas, Jim, and Dale Ransom; sisters: Norma Beam, Darlyne Meeves, Janis Woods, Diane Schloesser, and Marvel Bruning; half-brothers; Clarence Ransom, Earl Ransom, Willis Carstensen, George Ransom, and Donald Carstensen; half-sisters: Vera Jentzen and Donna Kroll. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Dennis Jepsen of Denison; their son, Scott Jepsen of Denison; daughter, Rabecca and her husband Dan Schoeppner of Templeton; two grandsons: Colby Petersen and his wife Alexis of Irwin and their two sons: Bennett and River; and Zeth Petersen of Audubon and his two sons: Salem and Braxton; and sister Carol Goeppner of Minnesota; many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services were held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison, Iowa. Rev. Bill Wrede officiated the service with interment in the Oakland Cemetery in Denison. Organist Karen Kahl provided accompaniment for congregational hymns "Take My Hand and Lead Me" and "On Eagle's Wings."
