Softball won't be the same without Alice. While sometimes a reluctant leader, she was nevertheless always the driving force behind our team. We all wanted to please her and she had a special place our hearts. We'll miss you, Alley Cat, but we'll never forget you. Love and condolences to your beautiful family.

To The Weldon family,
My Condolences to you at this difficult time. I was so saddened to hear of Alice's passing. I lost touch with Alice after leaving the Dupont Company but often thought of her with a smile on my face. I was also honored to work with her at the Red Mill site and the Seaford Plant and loved working for her. Rest In Peace Alice, and I will be sure to drink a tall beer for you in Seaford at our favorite place, the Cock and Bull Saloon!

An Irish Funeral Prayer

Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Everything remains as it was.
The old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no sorrow in your tone.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effort
Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was.
There is unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just around the corner.
All is well. Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting, when we meet again.
Until we meet again Alice, I will hold you close to my heart and hear you telling me to keep those pitches "high and tight."
I love you and will miss you forever, you pal

You know I hadn't seen Alice since Junior High but I can tell you this she made an impact on me. Her deterimination on the field and in all that she did was a fine example to those around her in every facet of life. I will never forget her smile, her joy in scoring and her love of just being a part of something bigger than herself, a team, a group, a family. Surely she will be missed but I wanted you to know that she will never be forgotten.
