Vanderhoogt
Age 81, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2005, at the Bayhealth Medical Center, Kent General Hospital, in Dover, DE.
Mr. Vanderhoogt retired from the State of Delaware Department of Corrections, where he was the facilities engineer. He was a 1952 graduate of Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also attended Oswego State Teachers College in Oswego, NY. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was also a corporal in the Virginia National Guard. He enjoyed boating, NASCAR, and was an avid Virginia Tech football fan.
Arthur is survived by his wife Rosemarie S. Vanderhoogt; 3 stepchildren, Victoria S. Jones-Elwood and her husband, David, of Dover, William E. Shetzler, Jr. and his wife, Wendy, of Middletown and Willard Glenn Shetzler and his fiance, Heather Carroll, of Townsend; 4 stepgrandchildren, Macey E. Jones, Payton K. Shetzler, Nathan E. Shetzler and Madison G. Elwood; and his mother-in-law, Elsie Marie Skaggs of Dover.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 26th, at 2:30 pm at St. Annes Episcopal Church, 15 East Green Street in Middletown, where friends may call after 2 pm. Interment with military honors will be in Townsend Cemetery. Arrangements by the DANIELS & HUTCHISON
