Age 74 of Newark, DE passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2005.
Mr. Longacre retired from the DuPont Company after 40 years of service. He was employed with Winterthur and spent his summers at Seashore Camp Sites in Cape May, NJ. He was a 1949 graduate of Conrad High School and was also retired from the Naval Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patricia; his children, Sharon A. Hubbs and her husband, Michael, of Colleyville, TX, Laura E. Rudewick and her husband, Charles, of Elkton, MD, Austin W. Longacre, IV and his wife, Debbie, of Landenberg, PA, Tricia Schoonmaker and her husband, Ray, II, of Hockessin, DE, Joan M. Vernon and her husband, Randall, of Newark, DE and Thomas W. Longacre and his wife, Carrie, of West Milford, NJ; his grandchildren, Susan McClane, Renee Thompson, Lisa Smith, Jennifer Cadoret, Austin W. Longacre, V, Elizabeth Vernon, Snowden Longacre, Ray Schoonmaker, III and Xzavier Longacre; his great grandchildren, Danielle Grant, Taylor and Aleisha Thompson, Jailynn Hernandez and Joseph Smith, III; his brothers, Adrian Longacre of AK and Craig Longacre of FL; and his sisters, Gail Mills of CO and Beth Queen of TX.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 16, at 9:30 am in Holy Angels Church, 82 Possum Park Rd., Newark, DE. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. Friends may call at the DOHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 3200 Limestone Rd., Pike Creek, on Wednesday, June 15, from 7-9 pm.
