Age 47, of Colora, MD, lost her courageous battle of 8 years to breast cancer on Friday September 7, 2007 at her parent's home surrounded by her loving family.
Bambi was born on September 11, 1959 in Greenville, SC, the daughter of John Arnold and Mary Jane Scarberry of Rising Sun. A 1977 graduate of Elkton High School, Bambi was an active volunteer for the American Cancer Society. She worshipped at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed time with her friends at Dr. Suri's office on Wednesday's chemo sessions. Bambi will be dearly missed by her family and her many friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her devoted companion of 28 years, Russell Steppe of Colora and his parents, Carl & Helen Steppe of Rising Sun; 3 sons, Jesse John Steppe and his companion, Ericka Warnick, Carl Russell Steppe, III, Christopher Thomas Steppe and daughter, Jessica Lynn Steppe, all at home; a grandson, Jesse John Steppe, Jr; 2 sisters, Dawn Anita Steppe and husband Mike of Rising Sun and Heidi Holland Miller of Salisbury, MD; 4 sisters in law and their husbands, Patsy and Jim McWilliams of North East, MD, Loretta and Norman Jugler, Jenny and Tom Johnson, and Debbie and David Steppe, all of Rising Sun, MD; a brother in law, Ronnie Hemrick and wife, Carol of New Jersey; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of Bambi's life will he held at the Rising Sun Church of the Nazarene, 2626 Tome Hwy., Colora, MD on Wednesday September 12, at 10 am. Friends and family may call at the church from 7–9 pm on Tuesday September 11, or 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will be in West Nottingham Cemetery.
