CAROL MURPHY Obituary

Carol Sue Murphy "Sue"

Age 70, Sue Murphy, formerly of Wilmington, DE, passed away on February 9, 2009, at home in Leonardtown, MD.

She received a BSN from the University of Pittsburgh and worked as a registered nurse for more than 30 years, including at Wilmington General Hospital. She and her husband also resided part time in Lewes, DE.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 48 years, Brendan F. Murphy, who passed away two days earlier. She is survived by her 4 children, Jerome A. Murphy of Arlington, VA, Anne Marie Murphy, of Powellville, MD, Patrick B. Murphy, of Leonardtown, MD, and Kathleen E. Murphy, of Baltimore, MD, and 5 grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Rd., Leonardtown, MD, on Friday, February 13, 2009 from 5-8 pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church, 21370 Newtowne Neck Road, Leonardtown, MD on Saturday, February 14, at 1 pm. Interment private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Campaign for St. Mary's Hospice House, Hospice of St. Mary's, PO Box 625, 22699 Washington St., Leonardtown, Maryland 20650; or the Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
