Age 96 of Silverton, ID died Monday, July 11, 2005, at Silver Wood Good Samaritan, Silverton, ID, after an extended illness.
She was born March 15, 1909 in Palo Alto, CA to Frederick E. and Winifred (Orpin) Brasch. Carolyn attended George Washington University and enjoyed a brief career at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC. She married Kenneth E. Mulford on July 21, 1933, in Washington, DC. Carolyn and her husband, Kenneth, resided in Wilmington, DE for most of her adult life. In 1996, Carolyn moved to Silverton, ID to be closer to her daughter Lynn and family. She was a homemaker and past president of the Junior Board of the former Wilmington Memorial Hospital, a board member of the Home of Merciful Rest (now Kentmere Nursing Care Center) and a member of Christ Church in Greenville, DE. Carolyn was very interested in interior design, enjoyed deep sea fishing, the theater and travel. She was also known for her extensive collection of classical movies and for her sense of humor.
She is survived by 1 daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Bill Calhoun of Silverton, ID; 1 son and daughter-in-law, John and Soonie Mulford, Wilmington, DE; 3 grandchildren, John Calhoun and his wife, Jacquie, of Brier, WA, Bob Calhoun and his wife, Shannon of Lakewood, WA and Susan Carlile and her husband, Greg, of Westerly, RI; 2 great-grandchildren, Mariah Calbero and Gavin Calhoun; and her sister-in-law, Esse Mae Brasch of Hendersonville, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, in 1984; and 1 brother, Maxwell Brasch.
A cremation has already taken place. Memorial services will be held privately for the family.
