Tietjens
Charlotte Brandt Tietjens, of North East, MD, died peacefully in her home December 5, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was 68.
Charlotte was raised in Norristown, PA, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Christopher Tietjens. They started their life together at The Pennsylvania State University during Ron's years playing football for the Nittany Lions. They raised their family in Chalfont, PA, during which time she owned the Sundance gift shops in New Hope and Lahaska, PA. She lived the remainder of her life in North East, MD where she touched many people's lives. Her own life was enriched by the close and supportive community and friends she met working at Bay First Bank. She was an active member of the Penn State Nittany Lion Club of Bucks County, and her hobbies included cooking, gardening and bird watching.
Her death was preceded by her beloved husband Ronald, and her parents Charles and Catherine Brandt. She is survived by her 3 children: daughter Lenore M. Tietjens-Grillo, wife of Angelo Grillo, and mother of her 2 grandchildren of Elkton, MD; daughter, Sharon A. Tietjens, of Perryville, MD; and son, Jeffrey C. Tietjens, husband of Aisha Tyler, of Los Angeles, California. She is also survived by her 2 brothers, Edward J. Brandt, of Lower Gwynedd, PA; and C. Dale Brandt, of Audubon, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service on Monday, December 8, 2008, 11:30 am, at the St. Jude Mission Church, 928 Turkey Point Road, North East, MD.
In lieu of flowers we would like donations in Charlotte's memory to be made to The Union Hospital Foundation. They should designate the donation benefit CAMP (a medication assistance program) 106 Bow Street, Elkton, MD, 21921.
