David Olin Tarbutton, age 70, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully at home, while surrounded by his family, on Saturday, September 16, 2017.

A native Delawarean, David was born in Wilmington on August 9, 1947, and was the son of the late Roland and Doris (Williams) Tarbutton. He made his career as a machinist, retiring from the Container Corporation in Aston, PA, after 40 years of dedicated service.

David was a longtime member of the TAC Club and the Police, Fire, Rod & Gun Club. He enjoyed boating, playing shuffleboard, fishing, and visiting casinos. Most of all, David was a loving and devoted family man who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy V. (Gray) Tarbutton; children, David Rodney Tarbutton (Adrianne Kerr) and Mike Edward Tarbutton and Kate Durnan; stepchildren, Debbie Rapp (Gregory) and Larry Krawczak (Betty Jean); brothers, Sonny, Merideth, and Jimmy; sisters, Marie, Helen, and Doris; and grandson, David Owen Tarbutton and Lucas and Isabel Durnan.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 1:00 pm until 2:30 pm on Wednesday afternoon, September 20, 2017, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 2:30 pm. Interment will be private.
