DONALD HADLEY Obituary

Donald H. Hadley

Age 77, of Wilmington, DE died on Tuesday March 8, 2005 in HCR Manor Care.

He graduated from Claymont High School and attended University of Delaware. Mr. Hadley served in the European Theatre in WWII with the US Army in the 553rd Pontoon Bridge Co. He worked as a civil engineer with the DuPont Company and then VanDemark and Lynch, Inc. for over 20 years. Mr. Hadley was a member of the A.F. & A.M. Brandywine Lodge #33 and the Odd Fellows. He served in numerous leadership capacities with the Talleyville/Naamans Lions Club and as a cabinet secretary to the District Governor.

Mr. Hadley is predeceased by a sister, Elizabeth H. Eshelman. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Nancy J.; son and his wife, Donald Hale and Joanne; grandson, Donald H. Hadley, III; and granddaughter, Erin E. Hadley, all of Wilmington; son and his wife, James Jernee and Karen Q. Hadley; and granddaughters, Rebecca A. and Caitlin J. Hadley, all of Warrenton, VA; and sister, Virginia H. Walter of Jennersville, PA.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2005 at 11:00 am at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, Wilmington. Interment will be private at Delaware Veterans Cemetery.
