Doris Pierce Obituary
Age 70 of Earleville, MD, passed away at her home on April 5, 2015.
Doris was born in Panther, WV on July 17, 1944, daughter of the late Robert and Maggie Cline. She was a longtime employee of the State of Delaware, offering 31 years of exemplary service with the Social Services Division. She possessed a deep love for children and also found joy in traveling with her husband. Doris enjoyed sewing, reading, and watching CNN in the morning.
Doris is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years, Ernest Pierce; sisters-in-law, Mary Walker, Virginia "Ginny" Pierce, and Dorothy "Dottie" Pierce; brothers, Billie Cline (Debbie) and Bobby Cline; sisters, Phyllis Steele and Mable Hirts; step-brother, Sherman Cline; step-sister, Betty Coleman; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Charles P. Arcaro Funeral Home, 2309 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington, on Saturday morning, April 11 at 10:30am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park in New Castle. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning, prior to service, from 9:30-10:30am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

So sorry to hear of the passing of such a sweet and funny lady who always knew how to make one laugh! I had the great pleasure of being her supervisor during her tenure with DSS & later DFS! Dearest Aunt Doris(the first original; little princess) your untimely passing came as a shock to us all... but then we cannot question God's timing who's timing is always perfect~ it is no coincidence that you're passing was on Easter Sunday the day of our Lord God and Saviors resurrection, of which leads me to believe; not only did you fall into His loving arms, but also into the arms of all those loved ones who had gone before you... and so as you rejoice and celebrate your new life, let us to celebrate and rejoice in your life as well...Aunt Doris you will be missed so in the physical sense, but celebrated so very much in the spiritual, with so very much love. Thank you for so very many wonderful and very special memories that always will each of us treasure, especially of those down the cottage they were our fondest, we were all so much younger then and we were all your children and you loved us all just as equally thats how special YOU were and the special gift God had blessed YOU with.
