Elaine Craig Horwitz, 79, of Las Vegas, NV, died peacefully Friday, October 28, 2011, after a brief illness.

Mrs. Horwitz was the daughter of Elizabeth and Howard Broughton. She grew up in Wilmington, DE and graduated from A.I. duPont High School. After raising seven children and being a full-time homemaker, she graduated from Delaware Technical & Community College with a nursing degree. As a registered nurse, she was employed at Churchmans Village and Pelleport Div. of Wilmington Medical Center, involving the care of the elderly. Elaine enjoyed playing bridge with her friends in both Wilmington and Las Vegas. She also had fun playing Bingo with Harry and Las Vegas friends Myron and Mary. She loved and appreciated family and friends during the last 20 years of her life in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Horwitz; four daughters, Janet Stanger of Houston, TX, Judy Horwitz of Newark, DE, Anita Reardon of Atlanta, GA and Kim Horwitz of Stanton, DE; two sons, David Horwitz of Newark, DE and Steven Horwitz of Wilmington, DE; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Todd of Wilmington, DE; and three newphews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Beth Harkins.

A remembrance and celebration of life will be held in both Las Vegas and Wilmington.
