Elizabeth Gillen Obituary
AGE: 91 • Newark
Elizabeth Mabel "Betty" Gillen, age 91, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2015, at Foulk Manor South in Wilmington.
Mrs. Gillen was born in Providence, RI, on December 22, 1923, a daughter of the late Robert and Lucy Wood. She had worked as a clerk for many years at the Sears Fashion Center in Newport. She enjoyed life to the fullest especially after her retirement. Mrs. Gillen loved animals of all sorts, especially her dog, Lady. She enjoyed and loved spending time with her loving family. On Saturdays, she always looked forward to going to the movies. She enjoyed life to its fullest.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gillen was preceded in death by her loving husband, William John Gillen and her sister, Anne Jaworski. She is survived by her devoted son, Michael W. Gillen (Joan) of Newark, DE; and granddaughter, Jill Henebry.
Funeral service and interment will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808.
