Freida Solomon Obituary
(nee Strauss)
Age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away on August 11, 2013.
A lifelong Wilmingtonian, Freida attended the old Wilmington High School. She proudly served as a WAVE in the US Navy during WWII.
Predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Seymour, sons Alan and Michael, and grandson Scott, Freida is survived by her daughter Bonnie Solomon of Wilmington, her brother Nathan Strauss of Hockessin and countless nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers, Dalia Downs and Rose Parke Malcolm.
Graveside services were Tuesday, August 13, at the Jewish Community Cemetery, 401 Foulk Road, Wilmington. Shiva will be observed at the home of Howard and Hedy Mintz, Tuesday through Sunday, excluding Friday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Heartland Hospice House, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808 or the Chabad Lubavitch of Delaware, 1811 Silverside Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

We are sorry we cannot be with you to pay respect for Freida, and to sit shiva with you, Bonnie, and the Mintz family. Our friendship goes back more than 50 years. We will miss Freida as we miss Seymour, Michael, Alan and Scott. We send our love and sympathy.
