GENEVIEVE DUPONT Obituary

Genevieve L. DuPont

Age 61, of Clayton, DE, died at Christiana Hospital on March 18, 2005.

Genevieve (Vi Vi) was born December 12, 1943 in Wilmington, DE. She was the daughter of Nicholas Ridgley and Genevieve Estes DuPont.

Vi Vi is survived by son, Brian DuPont Sayer; mother, Genevieve Estes DuPont; sister, Nicole Limbocker.

Vi Vi dedicated her life to helping the handicapped. She started her own 4-H Club in 1995 using miniature animals to help the handicapped, also creating a foundation for handicapped children. She was the chair person for American Miniature Horse Association for mentally/physically challenged. She was a volunteer for the Wilmington SPCA 1956-1958, a volunteer at Eugene DuPont Memorial Hospital 1958-1964, and taught riding from 1980-1988. In 1969 she assisted in the establishment of the Thorn croft riding for the handicapped, Malvern, PA. In 1980 she assisted in the riding program in St. Michaels, MD. In 1985 she was a peer counselor for the visually impaired. Vi Vi's goals in life were: to see man and nature live in harmony; to see the world a better place to live; TO MAKE PEOPLE HAPPY.

A celebration of Vi Vi's life will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Thorn croft Equestrian Center, 4-H Club, 190 Line Road, Malvern, PA 19355. (610-644-1963)
