Age 87, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday March 23, 2007.
Mr. Rucinski retired from Plasterer's Local 38 in 1985 and was an Army veteran of WW II. A longtime member of St Matthew Church, he was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 56 years, Ruth (Breslin) Rucinski, his son and daughter in law, Daniel P. and Nina Rucinski of Smyrna, his daughter and son in law, Antoinette (Ann) and Andries Westerbaan of Hockessin, and his two grandchildren, Joshua and Megan. He is also survived by a brother, Edward Rucinski and a sister, Marie Welch, both of Fenwick Island.
George's family would like to extend a special thanks to the wonderful staff of Heartland Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Family and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, 10:30 AM at St. Matthew Church, 1 Curtis Ave, in Woodcrest. Calling hours will be after 9:30 AM in church. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veteran's Cemetery in Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to TriState Bird Rescue, 110 Possum Hollow Rd., Newark, DE 19711.
