Georgia MCCAMIE Obituary

Georgie "Mae" McCamie Age 90 of Cedar Heights, Wilmington, DE, wife of the late Earl B. Mc-Camie and mother of the late William Benjamin, was born in Eutaw, AL and departed this life on Wednesday, October 10, 2001. She became a resident of DE July 1936 and retired from the Emily P. Bissell Hospital's dietary department with 17 years of service. Her Christian experience began at an early age and she was baptized in the Ohio River. Her known church affiliations were the Star of Bethlehem AUMP Church in the Newport/Prices Corner area, and the Mother of Reeds AUMP Church in North East, MD. She was an original member and a lead singer of the Travelers Chorus of Newport, DE. Mrs. McCamie is survived by her grandchildren, Barbara McCamie, Adrienne Woodard, Deborah McCamie of Beverly Hills, CA, Cheryl McCamie of Newark, DE, Beverly Hertzfeld of Wilmington, DE, Mimi Wright of New Castle, DE, Lori Williams of Middletown, DE, William B. McCamie, II of Jersey City, NJ, Kecia Watkins of Dover, DE, J. Nicole Harrison of Newark, DE and Kashetta Gibson of Wilmington, DE. Other survivors include great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Gosa of Wilmington, DE; a sister-in-law; a daughter-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends. A viewing will be held from 9-11 am with a Celebration of Life service at 11 at the Simpson UM Church, 907 Centerville Rd. in the Newport area, and interment will follow in the Silverbrook Cemetery on Lancaster Ave. in Wilmington.
