Harry Pace Obituary
AGE: 97 • Newark
Harry T. Pace, 97 of Newark, DE, passed away at home on Wednesday, July 13, 2016.
He was born in Crittenden County, KY, son of the late Offutt T. and Beulah L. (Austin) Pace. Harry served honorably in the US Army during WWII, where he was also an accomplished golden glove boxer.
Upon his discharge, Harry went on to work for Chrysler; which took him and his family from Kentucky, to Detroit, and eventually to Delaware where he finished his career, retiring in the mid-1970s.
Harry was a very talented and accomplished artist, specifically oil painting. He was also a skilled woodworker and craftsman. He loved to read and learn about history, and was an excellent story teller. Above all else he cherished the time he spent with his family. He was known to spoil his daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren. Harry will be deeply missed.
Harry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Linda (Whitt) Pace; his daughter, Patricia Barone and her husband, Phillip; his granddaughter, Lisa Davis and her husband, Michael; and his two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Ryan Davis.
Services for Harry are being held privately with his family.
