Harvey I. Stryker, Jr.

Mr. Harvey I. Stryker, Jr., age 64, of Townsend, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, died on Friday, June 13, 2008, at home with his family at his side.

Mr. Stryker was born on August 21, 1943, son of the late Harvey I. Stryker, Sr. and Mary Canavan Stryker, and was raised in Carneys Point, NJ. He was employed in sales with ADT Security Systems for 18 years until his retirement. A devout Catholic, Mr. Stryker was a longtime member of Our Lady of Fatima parish.

His beloved wife, Nancy-Jo (James) Stryker, died in 1998. He is survived by 4 children, Mary E. Semanski of Townsend, DE; Harvey I. Stryker III of Middletown, DE; Jennifer A. Teets of Hackettstown, NJ; and Stephen Z. Stryker of Wilmington, DE; 2 brothers, William Stryker of Kennedyville, MD; and Mark Stryker of Galena, MD; 6 sisters, Romayne Galvin, Nancy Stryker, and Margaret DeLucia of Wilmington, DE; Jacqueline Rossi of New Castle, DE; Sarah Jastram of Sudlersville, MD; and Jane Killman of Dover, DE; and 9 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9:30-10:30 am on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, 801 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, 19720. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church at the address above or to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. Dupont Hwy., Ste. 201, Dover, DE 19901-4468.
