Dear Rider family. So sad to hear of your dads passing. We have been long time friends since 1969 in Venezuela. Barbara and I felt like sisters those two years as we would spend time with each other every day. I loved her dearly and she made my life in Venezuela the best ever. I missed her when she was gone and we were so happy we had visited them just a short time before. Our friendship continued on all these years into New Jersey and Delaware and Jack visited us in Utah. We have emailed and texted these past years and not hearing from Jack finally decided maybe we should look at obituaries. Such a sad sad finding for us. I hope you get this message as I have no emails or ways to connect with you. Sending our love and prayers for all of you.

Jack (or Mr. Rider to me) was such a fun, joyful person. It was reassuring to know I had a "second Dad" when Terri and I met and became roommates at U of D!! I am very grateful to my parents for having such a wonderful connection with The Rider family. We were all raised with love, kindness and the strength to overcome challenges. Jack and my dad, Ralph, were both military men, engineers and devoted dads and loving husbands. I miss seeing both of them so much and hearing their "fatherly reminders" and terrific laughs. I'm happy that Jack can be with Barbara once again and that my dad can reconnect with Jack. They are all amazing people who are very loved and very missed . . .
Sending lots of love, faith, hope and healing to Terri and the whole Rider family. Love and hugs, Lisa O'Shea (Schlenker) and Dorothy Schlenker and family. oxoxo
