Middletown - Jean Marie Nicol, age 49, Of Middletown, DE, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, after a 5 1/2 year long courageous battle with cancer.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 19 years, Sean Nicol; her children, Tayla, Jadyn, and Michael; her brother John Riley, and her faithful, loving dog Lacy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 11 am at St. Joseph's Parish, 371 E. Main St., Middletown, DE 19709. Viewing will be from 10 - 11 am at the church. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Seasons Hospice, 220 Continental Drive, Suite 101, Newark, DE 19713. Visit daniels-hutchison.com to view full obituary.

There are no words to express my deepest sympathy.
Heaven gained an angel named Jean and she is now watching over all of us guiding us through our journey.
It was truly an honor to know her she was a great friend with a heart of gold.
Her strength was admirable a beautiful soul both inside and out a true gem.
Sean, Tayla, Jackie, and Michael, she fought hard for all of you.
She loved you very much and she will always be with you.

It was an honor to care for Jean. Her grit and toughness was darn near superhuman and truly made her an inspiration. She proved that a positive attitude conquered all and that it was possible to persevere. She once told me that she would rather be living her life than sit around feeling sorry for herself. I told her that Bill Bellichick would want a person like her to play for his team, her beloved Patriots. Condolences to Sean and the children. You should be very proud of your wife and mom. Anyone who knew her is a better person for having known her.

Jean was such a wonderful person. I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet and get to know her though I wish it was under better circumstances. Jean was one of my patients. I would sit with her during her treatments and talk about everything and everything. She will be very missed

This picture is so Jean! What a beautiful, loving, caring, inspirational woman. She fought the battle as hard as she could for her beautiful family, Sean, Tayla, Jackie & Michael. You were everything to her. I lost my mom at the age of 10 so I feel your pain. I know how hard it is for you. But try to remember, she is always with you in spirit, watching over and guiding you; and she is finally out of pain. She truly earned her wings. Sean, Tayla, Jackie & Michael there are no words I can say to express my sorrow. Your mom was a wonderful person and a fighter. You guys were her motivation. You kept her going. I remember I stopped by to see her and she was worried about being in the sun. At this point she hadnt been on the boat yet. She said lets go and the next thing I knew we were sitting in the boat in the yard. At that moment it was enough to keep her going. She will always be with you in your hearts and memories.

My sincere condolences to the family. I knew Jeanie when she was in grade and middle school. She was my daughter's best friend. This is what I remember about Jeanie.
